從互聯網、智能手機到人工智能，世界在過去數十年經歷了多次改變時代的創新。規模達 6,300 億美元的全球航天經濟，預計至 2035 年將增長至 1.8 萬億美元。新一輪產業復興正於航天經濟展開。
在這場新航天競賽中，公私營界別都將受惠。過去二十年發射成本大幅下降，催生蓬勃商業航天浪潮，亦加強全球公私營協作。由衛星互聯網、日用品到遙感技術在山火、颱風與海洋污染預警上的應用，成果已深入日常。2024 年，相關下游市場全球價值達 4,700 億美元，並持續增長。
航天經濟的價值早已超越火箭與衛星本身。除專業服務、資訊科技及電訊行業外，供應鏈與運輸、消費品與生活時尚、零售及餐飲等行業亦將共同受惠，整體經濟可望保持可觀增長。
只要共同把握機遇，香港也能乘勢而上。中國作為全球領先航天科技投資市場之一，正推動香港成為航天科技的重要國際樞紐。政策方向與資金條件俱備，正是共同建構香港商業航天生態的關鍵時刻。
受已故 Sir David 啟發，香港當前最重要的信息是：新一輪 NewSpace 經濟已經來臨，必須及早準備。而這個面向未來的載體，就是 SEA。
創會榮譽贊助人
Sir David Akers Jones (DAJ) 自 1957 年起投身香港發展與社會公益。他不僅在出任布政司期間推動政策與治理，亦長年活躍於社區工作，並參與新市鎮建設、基建發展及多項社會創新工作，對香港長遠發展影響深遠。
SEA 由董事會及轄下委員會共同管治，以確保問責、可持續發展與有效監督。董事會每年至少召開四次會議，負責策略方向、進度監察與長遠目標一致性。各專責委員會則以專業與專家監督支援協會運作，審計委員會更由獨立於董事會及管理層的召集人領導，體現 SEA 對透明度、良好管治及負責任管理的承諾。

OASA launched Space Mission 1, focused on STEAM education and the business of miniature satellites, including hands-on CubeSat learning experiences for youth.
OASA expanded its community communications through the Time Capsule and newsletter updates, documenting events, learning activity, and ongoing ecosystem development.
OASA launched Space Mission 2 to pair moonshot digital challenges with the Young Marco Polo programme, helping transform traditional businesses and foster startup creation.
OASA introduced Space Mission 3, described as Hong Kong's first commercial mission to NewSpace, focused on grounding space ideas into real businesses.
