從互聯網、智能手機到人工智能，世界在過去數十年經歷了多次改變時代的創新。規模達 6,300 億美元的全球航天經濟，預計至 2035 年將增長至 1.8 萬億美元。新一輪產業復興正於航天經濟展開。
在這場新航天競賽中，公私營界別都將受惠。過去二十年發射成本大幅下降，催生蓬勃商業航天浪潮，亦加強全球公私營協作。由衛星互聯網、日用品到遙感技術在山火、颱風與海洋污染預警上的應用，成果已深入日常。2024 年，相關下游市場全球價值達 4,700 億美元，並持續增長。
航天經濟的價值早已超越火箭與衛星本身。除專業服務、資訊科技及電訊行業外，供應鏈與運輸、消費品與生活時尚、零售及餐飲等行業亦將共同受惠，整體經濟可望保持可觀增長。
只要共同把握機遇，香港也能乘勢而上。中國作為全球領先航天科技投資市場之一，正推動香港成為航天科技的重要國際樞紐。政策方向與資金條件俱備，正是共同建構香港商業航天生態的關鍵時刻。
受已故鍾逸傑爵士啟發，香港當前最重要的信息是：新一輪新太空經濟已經來臨，必須及早準備。而這個面向未來的載體，就是 SEA。
創會榮譽贊助人 鍾逸傑爵士
鍾逸傑爵士自 1957 年起投身香港發展與社會公益。他不僅在出任布政司期間推動政策與治理，亦長年活躍於社區工作，並參與新市鎮建設、基建發展及多項社會創新工作，對香港長遠發展影響深遠。
SEA 由董事會及轄下委員會共同管治，以確保問責、可持續發展與有效監督。董事會每年至少召開四次會議，負責策略方向、進度監察與長遠目標一致性。各專責委員會則以專業與專家監督支援協會運作，審計委員會更由獨立於董事會及管理層的召集人領導，體現 SEA 對透明度、良好管治及負責任管理的承諾。
